Gabor Veto stops
Perparim Hajdini on Klitschko-undercard!
21st
March 2009 - Varpalotan (Hungary) hometown hero Gabor Veto (3-0, 3 Kos)
outclassed Perparim Hajdini (1-1) in winning an impressive second
round TKO in a lightweight clash on the undercard of WBC heavyweight
champion Vitali Klitschko’s title defence against Juan Carlos Gomez on
Saturday night at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart,
Germany.
This was Veto’s
first bout in front of such a large crowd (12‘500 spectators) and the
first real challenge for the former member of Hungarian amateur
national team. The opponent Perparim Hajdini from Albania won his pro
debut against former Russian vice-amateur-champion Sergej Bykov and
then had a no-decision against the IBF World Youth Champion Ali
Chusseinov . Veto was in command the whole way and broke Hajdini
methodically down, Hajdini an ex-featherweight Albanian amateur
champion, was no match for Veto who landed some good punches in a
dominant round one. In the second round Veto landed several power
shots to the head and body of the Albanian. Hajdini’s face was
bloodied in the second round and the fight was waved off by referee
Herbert Urich.
Veto said after the
fight “I am happy that I could win also my third professional-fight by
the way of knockout. It is very special and makes me proud to fight in
such a big arena in a Klitschko-event with so many famous people of
the boxing-business.” Veto was called after his fight and
congratulated by one of his favorite boxers in Koko Kovacs.
Optimum Sports
Agency have plans to bring Veto to the US to fight in September, where
he will be based out of Gleason’s Gym in New York. Manager Oliver
Duetschler said that Veto’s first fight in his home country is
scheduled in Varpalota on July 25th, 2009.
